You all really have enriched my life. I started RBW 2 and a half years ago to have a place to vent about the craziness that it takes to be a driven, strong, black female in NYC trying to find my purpose in life. That encompasses being neurotic, being inspirational, looking for love, making mistakes, and of course partying to keep you sane through out the entire ordeal. This blog has been a public diary and thank you for reading and helping me figure things out in my life. The blog has brought a lot of good and I've met some amazing people through it. I have life long friends because of this blog... but everything must come to an end at some point.

As I'm sure you've noticed I haven't spent as much time on RBW in the past couple months because I've been working on branding. I'm really going to take this whole "Eb the Celeb" thing to the next level and although I will always and forever be the Renaissance Black Woman, I have to pursue the possibility of something erupting in that regard.

So on December 31st I will be shutting down this blog forever and launching www.ebtheceleb.com on January 1st to start the new year off right.

I want to send a big thank you to everyone who has already been supporting the movement. Those that have become a fan of me on facebook, those that have subscribed to Eb-TV on youtube, and especially those that follow me on twitter because you bring so much energy to Eb on the daily.

Don't worry though, although in a different place, the Renaissance Black Woman will never die. The new blog will be what this is, combined with my music blog Jonesin'. So not only will you still get the thoughts to ponder, and inspirational spontaneity of everything that is Eb, as well as the instability that is my love life, but you'll be able to get my take on the latest and greatest music out all in the same spot. Eb the Celeb [dot] com will also unveil some new features that I'm sure you all will enjoy. So thanks for being apart of this journey and I hope you're ready for what's to come.

www.sistasports.com will stay intact and still bring the best in sports from a female perspective so definitely continue to check that out.

Again thank you for all your love and support the past couple years and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Now I'm not a parent, but I hope to be one day... so I wondered at what age do you let your child experiment and develop their own style outside the house?

I remember we all dressed up and wore crazy things inside the house but when you were going out with my mom she made sure you weren't looking a mess. Vaseline on the face, clothes matching, hair done, etc.

We all know in many other cultures children are allowed to run free outside the house on the regular.
Here we have
Exhibit A. The latino girl

She is adorable in her ballroom dress. Now we can't see her feet though. Want to know why? Because you know she has sneakers on... mmm hmmm.

Exhibit B. The white girl

Even though she's rocking it kinda fly...white kids are always dressed in some rainbow colors. This chick in the center with the hearts and the stripes is blinding me. No way will my kid walk out with me looking like a skittle.

So at what age do you let them have their own style???

This question came about after seeing recent pictures of Will & Jada's kids Willow and Jaden.

Willow is 9 years old and they have let her shave the side of her head (a la Cassie) and Jaden is 11 and they have just let his hair have a mind of its own.

I am not feeling Jaden's hair at all and even though I can't imagine letting my daughter shave her head at age 9, this cut is super cute on her. I am loving this on so many levels lil Willow.

The cutest thing about this whole situation is that its more than evident she has her dad's ears.

So Question for the Day : At what age do you let your child develop their own style???
PS - Another cool Celeb kid that I think is probably the coolest kid ever is Rev Run's son Diggy.

I loved him the most on the show and he really have his own style... and recently released a mixtape.

Yeah I know what you're thinking, the kid is 14 and I'm not into the bubblegum rap but he's actually pretty good. Its definitely worth a listen. Click on the album cover to download.

OK so here are mine...

1. HAVE YOU EVER... blew your nose so hard that some booger juice came out your eye???

2. HAVE YOU EVER... been out and saw a dude that was super fine and your panties were so wet that you thought your period came on so you go to the bathroom to take care of it and nope it was just regular juices???

3. HAVE YOU EVER...had someone in you so big that they bruised your fallopian tubes and your uterus was so sore for so many days after that you thought you might never ever be able to have kids???

Now you hit me up with some HAVE YOU EVER's in the comments!

1/2 way through my cleansing so I'm not getting any type of sexual action, but I wanted to wish all my readers a very HAPPY HUMP DAY with a Have you ever done it in the shower with 50 Cent??? Lawd knows I wish I had after seeing this clip.

Original Video- More videos at TinyPic
It's from his movie "Before I Self Destruct" and even though iCant with them braids, YES EB CAN with that booty shot and that make me feel good sexin'.

This is the question I asked on twitter today and I got some of the most ignorant answers I've ever heard in my life so that's why I'm coming to the blog. I'm hoping my blog fam has a little more sense than the people that follow me on twitter.

Granted this question was brought about by the Tiger Woods situation since today he finally came out and admitted to cheating, but on a bigger picture this isn't about him.

I got answers like :
No one is perfect,
religion and beliefs
certain circumstances/situations.

Does anyone here see an answer to the reason why men cheat? No because there are none there. These are excuses. There is no reason why men cheat! There is no reason for cheating on your WIFE. Not your girlfriend, I said your WIFE!!!

Then the conversation got off tangent when the idea that a man only married a chick because she got pregnant came up.

First and foremost women need to take care of themselves. Granted mistakes can happen, a condom can pop or whatever, but the majority of the time when people have unplanned pregnancies it's because they were being irresponsible with their body. YOU have to take care of YOU. I'm not saying no fault lies on the man but as a woman you have to take care of you.

But like I said, things happen, and just because you got pregnant does not mean that a man should automatically have to marry you. I do not believe in that. A child should not grow up in a home with 2 parents that are unhappy with each other and don't love each other just because they have a baby. That is just dumb and will hurt a child more than a woman being a single parent. The misconception here is that a single parent home is where the child lacks. That is not where the child lacks. The child lacks when the father isn't in their life. Just because the man isn't marrying the woman does not give him a pass to not take care of his child. Fact of the matter is if he marries her just because of the child he probably won't be home a lot anyway since he isn't in love with him situation at home. If he marries you because you got pregnant, you'll be divorced in a couple years and you'll still end up a single parent so what's the point. Anyone who believes its the responsibility of a man to marry a woman just because he got her pregnant is just ignorant.

So now that we've tackled that reason (which sadly has been the only real reason I can fathom for cheating since you married out of obligation), let's move on to the next one.

I agree with this. A lot of men do marry young...but I still don't understand the logic. Why Marry? Why are you marrying these women when you know you are not ready for that type of commitment?
Why not just have your main chick, and then mess with whoever you want on the side? Why take those vows if you know you aren't ready. Why?

And I know women cheat too but I'm not interested in women so I don't care their reasons for cheating. I want to know why men cheat and after seeing this following tweet there will never be an answer that makes sense to me.

No one made you get married so stop getting married for any other reason but than the fact that you love that woman and are ready in mind, body, and spirit to take that step. Any other reason is just uncivilized and the reason the divorce rate is so high.

On another note...

I am pissed right now because I went to my book shelf to look for Never Satisfied by Michael Baisden. It was a collection of interviews he did with different men analyzing why they cheat. I got the book back in college when I was doing radio for free because he came through the station on his book tour and the book was actually good. I wanted to be able to reference it because I didn't remember specifics and the mess was gone. Uuuggghhh so now I can't even pull anything from the book. I really can't stand when people touch my stuff and who knows if I will ever see it again. I've had too many roommates to name in the last 5 years since I've lived in this apartment so who knows who jacked my book before they moved out... I am so extremely aggravated right now.

Today I'm starting my 15 day spiritual fast. I feel like my life has been off kilter lately and I need an intervention to get me back focused. My fast will entail the following:

Gym : 4-5 times a week
No eating before 5pm
No red meat or pork when I eat after 5pm
Daily scripture reading (I'm using the Purpose Drive Life Journal as a guide)
No alcohol
No cussing
I can only drink water or hot tea

Most of this is going to take a lot of discipline from me. I don't have a obnoxiously pouty mouth but I can let off a few from time to time. I'm definitely going to try to go out less so I'm not tempted to drink. I'm always going to open bar events or events where I someone I know has bottle service so this is going to be a challenge. Dragging myself in the gym 4-5 times a week is also going to be a challenge. No eating during the day shouldn't give me too many problems even though I'm a foodie, but I am going to miss my bacon. I gotta start thinking up some creative ways to cook chicken and seafood so I'm not eating the same thing every day. Oh and the biggest thing is going to be only drinking water for 15 days. I know my body will appreciate it because I only drink Vitamin Water. I never drink regular plain water I think it's disgusting but that will be part of my fast as well.

I'm fasting to get some clarity on my purpose in life before the New Year. 2009 has came and went and I thought this was going to be my year to shine. Remember my motto was "The shine is mine in '09." Well its just about over and I feel like in a lot of aspects of my life I'm in the same position I was last year this time. There was little growth for me in 2009, and I was to take these next 15 days to reflect on that so I can go into 2010 with a clear plan. Not only say what I'm going to do but map out a path to ensure I'm not feeling this way again at the end of 2010 about my progress as I'm feeling right now.

As an educated black woman, we all know that the numbers are against most of us if we actually want to marry a black man. I took the time to assess my own personal situation in relation to some of the statistics and it's currently featured on EmpressMag.com. You can check the article out HERE.

Probably one of my favorite interviews to date since I love me some Teedra Moses.

Part II has no background noise... sorry for that but all these people were in the dressing room and finally left.

Also check out this in studio with Chester Gregory. He's currently playing in Dream Girls at Apollo and is a great talent. If you are in NYC this rendition is a must see and it running at Apollo theater until December 8th and then will be traveling to various cities across the country and Japan over the next year so if it hits your city definitely check it out.

Part II he talks about Dream Girls
